Get a grip with NDAC!

The recent wintry weather has resulted in treacherous driving conditions across the country.  Insurance claims statistics show that motorists are nearly twice as likely to have an accident in January compared to the rest of the year and the 18th of January is the worst day overall for car accidents.  In addition, employers see a higher rate of absenteeism and lateness due to weather-related motoring issues - over 58% of employees admit they have been late for work at least twice a week.  Workplace car parks are transformed into skating rinks and the risk of collisions increase as drivers rarely know what to do in the event that they lose grip.

So – what’s the solution?  Better trained company car drivers would help reduce the risks associated with driving in icy/wet conditions and reduce the associated costs e.g. increased insurance premiums, damage repair, third party claims, staff downtime, etc.  Such training also helps companies comply with their duty of care to employees under Health & Safety legislation.

NDAC Ltd is a driver training company that offers a wide range of training services from on-road training to 4x4 training to skid control training.  Using specially adapted cars fitted to a hydraulic frame, drivers are taught how to recognise the first sign of a car about to lose grip and then the steering and braking techniques necessary to regain control of a skidding car. The benefits are clear – reducing car accidents, reducing the associated financial costs and meeting legal requirements.  While we take the teaching of these skills very seriously we finish the training with a “fun”, timed, slalom which tests the trainee’s skills and award trophies to the driver most in control.
